Dr. Matias Mariani, PhD, CPsychPractice in Clinical Psychology and NeuropsychologyOwner/Director
Dr. Mariani is the owner and director of Mariani and Associates, and a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist since 2010. He also serves as Assistant Professor at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and Adjunct Professor at Laurentian University, and as an Affiliate Scientist with the Health Sciences North Research Institute.
With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Mariani specializes in assessing and treating the cognitive, emotional, and behavioural effects of brain injury and neurological conditions such as concussion, brain tumours, dementia, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and stroke. He also evaluates psychological function and provides therapy for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, with a particular focus on supporting first responders, military veterans, and marginalized communities.
Dr. Mariani earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Windsor and completed his residency at the Glenrose Rehabilitation and University of Alberta hospitals. After licensing, he worked as a Clinical Neuropsychologist at the Northeast Cancer Centre and as Professional Practice Lead in Psychology at Health Sciences North.
Dr. Mariani has also been involved in the governance of the profession of psychology at the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario as a Professional Member of Council, as a Proctor for regional Jurisprudence and Ethics Examinations, and as an Oral Examiner for licensing candidates. He is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), International Neuropsychological Society (INS), and Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA).
Fluent in English and Spanish, and conversational in French, Dr. Mariani is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care in an inclusive and supportive environment.
