FEES

Psychological services are not covered by OHIP. This means that, if you are eligible, the cost of your treatment can be paid for by:

  • Extended health insurance or Long-term disability (e.g., Great West Life, Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, etc.)

  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)

  • Employee benefits, including Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providers

  • Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)

  • Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS)

  • Canadian Forces Benefits

  • RCMP Benefits

  • Ontario Autism Program (OAP)

  • Nogdawindamin Family and Community Services

  • Automobile insurance

  • Legal representatives

If you are not eligible for any of these benefits, you can pay for the cost of your own treatment by cash, E-transfer, cheque, debit, or credit card. Payment is required at the time of service and receipts will be provided so you can claim your medical expenses on your income tax or to receive reimbursement from payers (e.g., extended health insurance). At Mariani and Associates, we follow the hourly fee guidelines recommended by the Ontario Psychological Association.

Note: Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Funding

If your child (under the age of 18 years) has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, you may access funding for select psychological and behavioural services through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP). Caregivers are required to register for the program by contacting the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services’ central intake and registration team at 1-888-444-4530 or email at oap@ontario.ca. Caregivers can also access family supports and service navigation in relation to OAP through Autism Ontario at www.autismontario.com or at 1-800-472-7789.

Note: Insurance Coverage

Psychological services may be covered, or partially covered, by other insurance benefits (e.g., Extended Health, Long-Term Disability, etc). Review your benefits package to determine eligibility for reimbursement and whether this coverage applies to your family members. Please bring information regarding your coverage, including group number and identification number, as well as claim forms, to your first appointment.

Note: WSIB Coverage

Mariani and Associates participates in the Community Mental Health Program (CMHP). If you have been injured in a workplace accident, you may be eligible to receive psychological treatment under the CMHP. Contact your WSIB case manager for more information and please bring information regarding your claim.

Note: Automobile Insurance
Under current automobile insurance legislation, psychological services may be funded if you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident. Family members, including your spouse, your parents, and your children may also be entitled to funding for psychological treatment if they have suffered physically, emotionally or mentally as a result of your injuries.
